This project was an interesting one as it felt like the idea of the campaign was strong however after prototyping and receiving feedback we found there was lots that had been miscommunicated. However due to the quick turn around it felt like a natural part of the process to produce a much stronger piece of work. I and Elliott will be extending this project for our end of year show to enable us to completely re-shoot. Through feedback and copy, we managed to salvage what we made. One of the key problems was having two directions so narrowing it down to one focus (A plastic planet, plastic-free aisles) Allowed for a simpler and more direct video.
Directing how the video was shot with Elliott was my favourite part of the project and something I had not done before. Working to a tight schedule with this project helped push it and I actually enjoyed working fast.
The huge weakness of this campaign was using clear plastic within the prawns this was a big mistake because you couldn't see it at all. So to people, it just looked like a normal cooking video. Next time around I would plan out the video a bit more with stronger aims and storyboards.
Working with Elliot and Hilda on this project was brilliant it was the perfect combo and allowed for me and Elliot to think about the direction of the video whilst Hilda filmed. Its been a great skill to learn.
Overall the final outcome did not come out how I had imagined, I think at its current stage it would not be very effective if distributed on social media. But on the plus this gives me something to work on after university however I learned a lot from this project in terms of time management, lighting, editing, art direction.
