OUGD406 - Studio Brief 1 - 140 Characters.

Tame Impala

I chose the words 'Fuck Trevor' because of the raw jealousy and childishness behind the line. With Trevor being the route of the problem the only thing we can do it tell him to do one. The songs themes of high school made this an ideal phrase, it is foolish yet bold grabbing attention through a outburst of frustration. I used modelling clay to represent the inner youth behind the gesture and give it a sense of unnecessary effort. While keeping the passion through the use of colours, I used two tones of red to suggest both love and envy, while the purple is signifying Passion. The slightly psychedelic pattern running throughout the type is created with the bands style and genre in mind. It has been been cropped to create a more in your face, quick and snappy phrase.

I wrote 140 word when I tried to submit I realise it is 140 characters not words.

With Trevor being the route of the problem the only thing we can do it tell him to do one. The Clay represents youth and a sense of unnecessary effort.

Dreams

This is an image image of a sand dune I took in Huacachina, Peru. I Choose this image because I feel the hill represents our aims and ambitions (dreams), and how by working hard we will eventually achieve them. It can be seen as both a mans victory and journey back or failure and turning back this is felt to the viewer to decide. I manipulated colours to create a dream like state the purples represent the mystery surrounding our dream whilst not straying to far from reality within the sky. A slight fade has been added to enhance the dream like state of the image.

The image suggests we must push ourselves to achieve our dreams. A dream like sunset falls to night. Edited with a daydream in mind. - Sand dunes in Huacachina, Peru
