SB1 - Feedback

Feedback on my pieces from

Beth - Have you thought about using second intervals to create a stop motion image.

Luke - Play around with collage by cutting out the pieces thinking about round shapes which represent a bike much better than blocks would.

Erin - really liked fig 1 as for her it really showed the process this was because she had used this process befor and could appreciate how it doesn't always come out perfect. - I found this very usefull as this is something I would like to get across from the process.

Ed - Suggested to show motion from the poster as i am using a process which i can do this with. -This insight lead me and ed to the idea of shaking the paper to produce movement after talking about the restrictions I have, one being only having two hands but more than two objects. By shaking the paper im solving this problem, or more playing up to it.

That composition on fig 1 is not working because the chain is drawing attention form rest of the image. - I agree with him on this.

That I should decide on what I am doing, as i have lots of options open at the moment. Is it a collage or is it a single shot? Simple shot represents a photo better than a collage.

He also suggested to focus creating depth through layering the objects do the poster does not the flat. This is one of the benefits of using the exposure unit.

Reflection

Talking to edd got me thinking about how I can play up to the strengths within this process. Such as I can create movement something which is simple but has a strong connotation to bicycles.

The exhibition talks about celebrating the everday cyclist and not the rockstar cyclists. By choosing a small part of the bicycle which we do not often think about i am representing the everyday cyclist.

The nuts and bolts essentially hold the bike together similar to how the everyday person holds together our economy. Its also the cheapest part of the bike.

I can give the posters depth and layers by using acetate under the movement of objects or the through raising the object to create a larger shadow.

By sticking to one image over and collage i am representing the idea of a photograph much better.

Ideas which came from feedback
